The Venetian Guys was founded by Richard and Matt, combining decades of experience in plastering, painting, and decorative finishes.

Richard brings over 20 years of industry experience across both New Zealand and international projects, developing a wide range of specialist skills and application techniques along the way. Matt has spent nearly a decade in the trade, building a reputation for his hands-on approach, attention to detail, and creative mindset.

Together, they share a passion for pushing the boundaries of decorative finishes and creating custom surfaces that feel completely unique to each project.

Working closely with homeowners, builders, and architects, Richard and Matt focus on understanding exactly what each client is trying to achieve to bring ideas to reality.

Their move into specialised Venetian plaster and microcement finishes came from a desire to create work that stands apart from standard interiors, using craftsmanship and creativity to produce finishes that haven’t been seen before
